The Professional Diploma of Skin Cancer Surgery provides an essential step toward subspecialisation in skin cancer surgery. You will learn the most advanced surgery techniques on atomically complex and cosmetically sensitive areas. This highly practical course is led by noted skin cancer doctors and a team of experienced GPs to assist you in your skills practice. The program covers surgical procedures for the nose and the lower limb, reconstruction of alar and sidewall nasal defects, reconstruction of nasal tip and glabellar defects, skin grafts and flaps for the lower limb.

Please note: Participants must have completed the Professional Certificate and Advanced Certificate of Skin Cancer Surgery course or have similar qualifications.

Upon successful completion of the course requirements, course participants will receive the Professional Diploma of Skin Cancer Surgery. This course has been approved for the Training Grant for Rural and Remote Procedural GPs Program (Procedural Grant Program).

Professional and Postgraduate Education Pathways

The Professional Diploma of Skin Cancer Surgery is the last course in the three-part Skin Cancer Surgery Diploma Program. Upon completion of the program, participants can complement their studies with the Skin Cancer Medicine Diploma Program or the Dermoscopy Diploma Program.

Course participants can attend a Skin Cancer Clinical Attachment at a specialist clinic or university teaching hospital to further refine and enhance their professional skills in skin cancer medicine.
